“Sex & Cigarettes” will be Toni Braxton eighth solo album. It’s been seven years since Braxton’s last solo album.
In an interview with The Insider, Toni said “I’m excited to be doing what I love doing”
“The new album comes out at the top of the year and it’s called Sex and Cigarettes. I feel like I’m older, I want to say what I feel, I don’t want to be censored.”
Braxton project starts with the single “Deadwood”, it’s reported to be a raunchy record. The music video is told to be a steamy one.
2014 was Braxton’s last album “Love, Marriage, & Divorce” with Babyface. The following year she took part in the Braxton Family Christmas.
In the meantime, Braxton has been working on the Lifetime Film Fate Under Fire, scheduled to premiere in 2018.
Playing Antoinette Tuff, a struggling single mom from Georgia that heroically prevented a tragedy, saving hundreds of lives when she convinced a deranged gunman who stormed a Dectur, GA, elementary school to surrender in 2013.
Both the single and video are already out.
The single is mature and catchy as hell, with all the trademark growls and octave-climbing that make Braxton such an exciting artist. Can’t wait for the whole album.
