YouTube Channel, FDE produced a video of older people of all colors reacting to Jay Z’s latest controversial video. However, not all of their reactions were what you would think.
Elders React to The Story of O.J. gave me different vibes. Art isn’t appreciated how they should be, nowadays. Critiques understood the concept Jay Z, self-proclaimed HOV, was gunning for in “The Story of O.J.”. Although they disagree with the hows and why’s, they still were able to take from the lyrics and videos the subliminal message provided. It was an interesting clip to watch.
Despite the language, “The Story of O.J.” was straight to the point. I believe HOV was attempting to reach a specific audience and make them aware of the information they normally wouldn’t be aware of. The point he was trying to get across is how money runs the society, and without money one is immobilized. It’s upsetting because so much of it is correct. One topic a man would gain from watching the video is that success is harder when you’re Black due to the many obstacles.
