Chance the Rapper has donated $1 million to Chicago Public Schools!
After meeting with Illinois governor Bruce Rauner, Chance the Rapper was left feeling little defeated, but he promised that change would come and that it did.
The money would support the arts and after school program at a moment where funding is in crisis. Chance has been very vocal in the past about fixing the system’s funding issues.
The donation is funded through a portion of the proceeds from his ticket sales. Chance is encouraging others to join him through SocialWorks, an organization he helped create. For every 100,000 raised, the organization will give an additional $10,000 to a specific Chicago school. Chance will also be donating $10,000 to specific schools!
