DJ Khaled has done it again! The visuals for the “Wild Thoughts” video have been released and they are AMAZING. The vibe, aesthetic, and fashion all make this the video of the summer. The summertime jam features verses from Rihanna and Bryson Tiller, as well as a sample of Carlos Santana’s classic “Maria Maria”.
Laced with a glisten from the humid temperature of the Miami setting where the video took place, Rihanna stuns in Balenciaga high-waisted floral print leggings with matching “Knife” boots, a bright-pink vintage Betsey Johnson crop top, a pair of oversized Lynn Ban earrings, and other accessories that make you want to run to the nearest boutique. DJ Khaled holds his own to donning two satin bomber jackets in tropical colors. The only fashion that falls short in the video for me, is Tiller’s normal hat, jacket, and jeans combo. This was the time to show us that he had other clothes in his closet.
Fashion aside, the video is everything you could want. I’ll admit after the “I’m the One” video, Khaled lost me. But boy, did he reel me back in. Rihanna shines as the star of the video taking control of her sexuality and flaunting it like nobody’s business. She draws viewers in and keeps their attention. Khaled did a great job at being the normal hype-man. I just wish that we saw Tiller more outside of the darkness. I know that it created a mysterious, sensual feeling, but he got lost in this video.
Overall I give the video a 9.98/10. That .02 goes to the missing Tiller element. Other than that, DJ Khaled and ASAHD did a wonderful job with this one.
