Migos did it for the “Culture”. They scored their first No.1 album on the Billboard 200 charts.
The masters of hip-hop and trap are at it again. Culture reportedly sold 131,193 equivalent album units in its first week. The album was also streamed 115 million times. With the success from the album’s No.1 single “Bad & Boujee”, it is no surprise Migos is coming out on top. The three members, stage personas Offset, Quavo, and Takeoff, are finally getting more recognition as rappers.
But why is this album significant? Offset says that the group is “…speaking for the youth.”
The hip-hop/rap trio last album “Yung Rich Nation” peaked at No.17 in 2015. Music critics say that the growth in the sound of the group is extremely prevalent in this new album. One thing is for sure: the group definitely has way more fans than they did in their Fight Night and Versace days. Furthermore, the memes from their “raindrop/drop top” line have surely brought on more success.
What do you think about Culture and Migos? Is the album worth a No.1 spot?
