A few days ago, news spread like wildfire on social media that Beyoncé is currently in final negotiations with Jon Favreau, the director of the live action Lion King reboot expected to be released in theaters July 2019.
Earlier this year, Variety broke the news that Bey was considering being the voice of Nala, while Donald Glover is on board to voice Simba and James Earl Jones is reprising his role as Simba’s father, Mufasa.
The reported contract asks Queen Bey to play Nala in addition to curating and producing the soundtrack for the film. According to thebeyhive.com, Beyoncé is being offered a whopping 25 million dollars to secure her involvement with the project.
The soundtrack will include classics from the original film in addition to new African-inspired tribal recordings by the singer.
