Born in Louisiana and raised in Oakland, California, Marquise Foster discovered his passion for fashion as a creative outlet at the age of 13. In 2009, he relocated to New York City to pursue his dreams. Through self-teaching, he mastered sewing, construction, and other design techniques to craft his own garments in his Brooklyn residence. Following various internships with local designers, he decided to establish his own clothing line under his name. The Marquise Foster brand aims to redefine streetwear, formal wear, and haute couture fashion, with a strong focus on menswear, gender-neutral styles, and costume design, incorporating elements of women’s wear.

Marquise Foster’s collections embrace diversity, catering to individuals who share his identity. He actively supports underrepresented communities in the Fashion Industry. Collaborating closely with clients, Marquise engages in consultations to develop unique designs for those seeking to make a statement and distance themselves from mainstream fast fashion. Inspired by trailblazers like Dapper Dan, Marquise aims to offer exclusive apparel that exudes confidence and individuality. His exposure to NYC Ballroom fashion fuels his creativity, enabling him to craft exclusive, bespoke pieces that ensure customer satisfaction.

Despite facing significant obstacles as a Black designer, Marquise showcased his skills on Season 18 of Bravo’s Project Runway. Recently, he has provided tailoring services for celebrities such as Mariah Carey, Summer Walker, Serena Williams, and others.
