Former “The Daily Show” correspondent and star of The Incredible Jessica James, Jessica Williams has joined the sequel to JK Rowling’s “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them”.
Last week, the actress/comedian announced that she would be apart of the sequel via Twitter. Jessica Williams role hasn’t been confirmed. Williams has been a long time fan of J.K. Rowling’s series. She revealed on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert that she received a DM on twitter from Rowling wishing her a happy birthday. The two share the same birthday.
David Yates, who directed “Fantastic Beasts” and the final four Harry Potter installments, is returning for the second film in the Harry Potter prequel series from a script by Harry Potter creator, JK Rowling. Rowling revealed a year ago that the spinoff franchise would consist of five films.
The film will see the return of stars Ezra Miller, Zoë Kravitz and Johnny Depp.
It has been previously announced that there have been additions to the cast such as Callum Turner as Newt’s older brother Theseus Scamander and Jude Law as Aldus Dumbledore.
The first film was set in the 1920s in New York City and was released last November. The film grossed $814 million worldwide. Warner Bros. has not yet revealed when the other films in the series will be released. Filming began in July and the sequel has been set to release on Nov. 16, 2018.
